How long have you been doing henna?

I am a self taught henna artist, and always learning! I have been practicing henna since I was about 15-16, so it has been a little over 10 years now. I started taking clients and bookings professionally in late 2019. I offer henna services from bridal, nonbridal, party, group, holidays, and individual.

What is your process for bridal henna designs?

Great question! After our initial conversation and once booking is confirmed, I will request your design preference(s) if you have not already shared it with me. This usually includes what motifs, patterns, symbols, designs, and must-haves you would like for your henna. My goal is to provide bespoke bridal henna that is unique to you and caters to your taste. I will then work on some digital samples and forward them to you prior to our appointment. And then it’s all about executing it the day of!

Do you have a henna portfolio?

Yes! I have examples of many works, designs, and stains on my Instagram, @eashenna_. You can also check the gallery tab on my page.

Where do you get your henna cones from?

Henna cones I use are 100% organic henna cones that are homemade by me. From time to time, I also get my henna supplied from various other small business henna artists.

Do you offer paint, black or jagua henna?

No I do not.

Will you hold dates?

At the time of booking, signed henna contract agreement and deposit, as indicated on contract, is REQUIRED. This is what CONFIRMS your date and service.

After a henna contract is sent, if there is failure to respond within 48 hours (unless communicated to me), your date will become open.

How do I achieve a dark henna stain?

Henna stain varies from person to person. I always recommend following proper aftercare. This includes:

  • Avoid using water/washing off the dried henna from the skin. Always scrape it off.
  • Keep the henna paste on for as long as you are able to. I usually keep my henna on overnight when I am able to, or a good 8-12 hours
  • Keep your hands warm!

Do you travel?

Yes I am open to traveling for henna services! I am based in New Jersey.

Please note that travel fees may apply- shoot me a message with your location and I can provide you further info.

What is the quality guarantee of your handcrafted items?

A few products are a blend between handcrafted and machine-made, like card prints. Where majority of the work is handcrafted, you can expect that pieces do not match perfectly and have slight imperfections. However, because they are handcrafted, each piece is unique and exhibits character. Handcrafting allows me to pay attention to the tiniest of details and the bespoke item to full potential. I can promise you unique and organic designs, that do not limit the artistic creativity.

How long does it take to complete an order?

Well, it depends. My lead time varies on the nature of the product, amount ordered, and volume of total orders. My lead time is anywhere from 1 week (for simpler products) to 4 weeks (for more detailed items and bulk orders). The busier the season, the longer lead time, so I always recommend to reach out earlier rather than later! If anything is going to take me longer, I will always convey that message to you and reassure on time delivery

Will the work wear off after time?

All pieces and products that are designed with acrylic paint and embelishments are sealed twice with gloss Mod Podge to ensure everything stays put.

Can I burn the candles?

While candles in general are meant to be lighted and have a burn time, my candles are made solely for decoration and show purposes. Lighting the candles will eventually burned off the designs as the candle wax melts.

I need something sooner rather than later.

I highly request that you reach out to me earlier about commission and bulk order requests, especially if they are requested for special events and occassions. The earlier your share your dates with me, the better it is for me to complete something to its full potential. Art takes time :)

I want to make an order/request last minute.

Things happen! I get it, and I want to provide a smooth experience for everyone. If you need something last minute (commission request, bulk orders, etc), I request that you reach out to me by email at eashenna@gmail.com or DM on Instagram @eashenna_ before going ahead and placing it on the site. Be warned that it may potentially cause an increase in price, and you will be responsible for the shipping for speed delivery.

Yes I do. Please send me a request here with all the details and I will get back to you.
